School Nurse
Full Time Exempt Position

POSITION OVERVIEW
The School Nurse supports the efforts of the administration, working to strengthen and grow efforts to keep the community healthy and safe. The position will report to the Head of School and is a full time exempt position. .

Primary roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

General Responsibilities
Administers first aid and emergency procedures in accordance with established procedures
Provides health counseling to students, their families, and school personnel
Assesses, identifies, monitors, and refers health needs of students
Develops care plans for students with ongoing conditions
Administers medication when necessary
Educates students and staff on health procedures
Maintains health records in full compliance of California State Regulatory codes for both Day School and ECC students and staff
Implements policy on exclusion/readmission of students in conjunction with infectious and contagious diseases
Serves as a resource person in matters pertaining to health curriculum planning
Assesses the attendance for illness/absence patterns, coordinates with teachers and parents
Coordinates with school psychologist and teachers in regards to children’s health
Performs other reasonably-related duties as may be assigned by appropriate administrators

COVID-19 Management Responsibilities
Serves as point of contact for all Covid-19 related matters
Serves as point of contact for Covid-19 testing scheduling and management
Primary contact tracer
Regularly attends LACDPH local/county update calls
Coordinates and reports actionable items with County Health Department when necessary
Other duties may be assigned as needed
